Benjamin Dabo Sarkodie is a distinguished figure in the field of Vascular and Neuro interventional radiology (VIR), renowned for his significant contributions to advancing minimally invasive treatments in Ghana and the sub-Saharan Africa region. As an Associate Professor at the University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS) and a Consultant Vascular and Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Sarkodie has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of minimally invasive therapies in Ghana. Prof. Sarkodie holds the esteemed distinction of being the first certified interventional radiologist in Ghana. Throughout his career, he has pioneered numerous groundbreaking procedures, including the first endovascular treatment of brain aneurysm and mechanical thrombectomy for acute strokes, among others here at Euracare. His innovative spirit and commitment to excellence have earned him recognition as a leader in his field. In 2019 ,he was featured on the BBC for his ground breaking brain aneurysm treatment in Ghana. With a strong academic background and extensive training experiences in Ghana, the USA, Singapore, and South Korea, Prof. Sarkodie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice. He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) and a member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, reflecting his dedication to professional development and excellence in patient care.
